PILATES TEACHER TRAINING
Elevate Movement Academy offers comprehensive Pilates teacher training that blends the art and science of movement education. Our programs unite classical Pilates principles with modern anatomy, biomechanics, and functional training to educate mindful movers and aspiring teachers.
Our Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training is a 500-hour certification program designed to align with the eligibility requirements for the National Pilates Certification Program (NPCP), providing graduates with the education and practical experience needed to pursue national certification.
We cultivate teachers who embody clarity, confidence, and purpose — empowering them to inspire meaningful movement in others.
The Elevate Framework

This 30-hour Anatomy & Movement Science module, including coursework and examinations, is led by Adam McCee, founder of Evidence Based Pilates, and provides a clear, practical understanding of how the body moves.
Through interactive lectures and applied movement analysis, trainees learn to connect anatomy with real-world Pilates application — understanding not just the names of muscles, but how structure, alignment, and function influence movement efficiency and teaching outcomes.
The course bridges modern science with classical Pilates principles, empowering teachers to observe with precision, cue intelligently, and teach with deeper anatomical insight.

Movement Labs are 4-hour embodiment sessions held at the beginning of each training module, giving trainees dedicated time to feel, explore, and internalize the repertoire before learning how to teach it.
These sessions focus on movement literacy, kinesthetic awareness, and self-practice, helping trainees develop a deeper physical understanding of the Pilates method.
Focus:
Deepening understanding of Pilates principles through personal experience.
Exploring biomechanics, muscle activation, alignment, and movement flow.
Practicing the repertoire with instructor feedback and guidance.
Developing greater kinesthetic awareness and movement proficiency.
Understanding not only what to teach, but how the movement should feel.
Goal:
To ensure every trainee embodies the method so their teaching develops from authentic movement experience rather than memorization alone.4 Hours per Module | Counts Toward Comprehensive Training Hours

Live Training Intensives are the core in-person education and teaching sessions of the program. Through structured training blocks, trainees progress through the Pilates repertoire while developing the knowledge, methodology, and practical skills required to teach effectively across the full range of Pilates apparatus.
Focus:
In-depth study and practice of the Pilates repertoire.
Teaching methodology, cueing strategies, progressions, and modifications.
Observation, discussion, and supervised peer teaching.
Integration of anatomy, biomechanics, and movement principles.
Application of the method to different bodies, abilities, and client needs.
Developing programming, critical thinking, and confident decision-making as a teacher.
Goal:
To provide trainees with the knowledge, structure, practical experience, and teaching skills needed to confidently and effectively guide clients through the Pilates method.240+ Hours | In-Person Training Intensives

The Apprenticeship is where knowledge becomes skill. Under the guidance of Elevate faculty, trainees complete 250 hours of applied learning and professional development, building the practical experience required to transition from student to confident Pilates teacher.
The apprenticeship bridges theory and real-world application through observation, self-practice, practice teaching, client work, and final assessment.
Observation: Shadow certified Pilates teachers to study session structure, cueing, programming, client interaction, and teaching strategies in real time.
Self-Practice: Deepen your personal understanding of the method by consistently practicing and embodying the repertoire across Mat, Reformer, and Pilates apparatus.
Practice Teaching: Develop your teaching voice, communication skills, cueing, programming, and ability to work with different bodies through supervised and independent teaching.
Client Project: Apply your education to a real client, demonstrating your ability to assess needs, develop appropriate programming, track progress, and adapt the Pilates method to the individual.
Goal:
To provide trainees with the hands-on experience, mentorship, and practical application necessary to develop confidence, competence, and professionalism as independent Pilates teachers.250 Hours | Observation • Self-Practice • Practice Teaching • Client Project • Session Programming
